Evangel missions

Evangel is committed to changing lives across the street and around the world.

We have two mission teams at Evangel. One is a traditional mission team that supports missions and missionaries around the world. The other is our Community Missions team that works in our local area by donating money, volunteering and recruiting others to support our community.

Evangel also coordinates mission trips for adults and youth.

Community missions

Community Ministries promotes Christian mission work by encouraging the people of Evangel to volunteer, give to local missions and to help youth/adults become active in mission projects. We are committed to changing lives within Evangel, across the street and throughout the Rochester area.

Below are some of the ministries and community partners that Evangel Church supports through volunteering and/or donations.

Special mission drives

Several times a year, Evangel offers opportunities for special mission work. It may be a request for money to support a specific organization or it may be a request of other kinds.

  • Evangel giving tree

Many families struggle at Christmas to make ends meet so gifts are even harder. Families can make requests for Christmas. Then the people of Evangel help to fulfill those wishes by pulling a request from the tree and buying the gift. The gifts are wrapped and delivered to the families by our Christian Education Team.

  • Minnesota annual conference love offering

Each year, churches in the Minnesota Annual Conference take a Love Offering for missions in conjunction with our Annual Conference Session.

  • UMCOR

UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
